Ernesto Miras Batulayan's Obituary
Mr. Ernesto Miras Batulayan, 70, of Kahului, passed away on February 6, 2016.
Services honoring Mr. Batulayan will begin on Tuesday, February 23 at Nakamura Mortuary. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm, with services beginning at 7:00pm.
On Wednesday, February 24, visitation will begin at 10am, with funeral service at 11am. Mr. Batulayan will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park—Garden of Meditation at 12:30pm.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Ernesto was born on Dec. 30, 1945 to Anacleto & Sebastiana Batuyalan. In Daquioag Marcos, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
Mr. Batulayan was a houseman with local hotels throughout his career. After retiring, Ernesto enjoyed gardening, singing & spending time with family & friends. He genuinely cared about the well-being of others, near and far. He could always be counted on to call and check up on how friends and family were doing.
Ernesto was predeceased by his parents, brother Gervacio Batulayan; and sisters, Teresa Passion & Celerina Prescelo Taclan.
Mr. Batuyalan is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Imelda Batulayan and his beloved daughter, Kathleen Ann Batulayan. He also leaves behind four brothers, Silvestre (Christina Joy) Batulayan, Federico (Crecencia) Batulayan, Victor (Leonarda) Batulayan, Pedro (Carmelinda) Batuyalan; two sisters, Elena (Rolando) Castro & Irene (John) Alipio; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Batulayan.
