ETSUKO “TONI” ANDERSEN, 89
Toni Andersen of Lahaina, passed away peacefully March 9, 2018 at the Hospice Maui Hale with her loving family by her side.
Toni was born December 8, 1928 in Alameda California to Bunju and Takeko Marubayashi. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Frederick David Napihaa Andersen.
Toni and Fred first came to Maui in the early 70’s, wanting to see where Fred’s father, William Napihaa, came from. They both fell in love with this island from the beginning; Toni saying, “this is where I belong”. They moved to West Maui full time January1979, and never left.
Toni enjoyed cooking, as so many know. She was a sports fan, being very athletic in her youth. She also liked shopping, Mahjong, and Aloha Friday Potluck dinners. Toni also volunteered for the Maui Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 16 years.
She is survived by her Daughters, Pamela Webb in Lahaina and Susan Graven from Oregon, and Grandson Nathan Poindexter in Lahaina.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
Family would like to thank Hospice Maui Hale for the special care and love they gave during her final days. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to: Hospice Maui Hale, 400 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, Hi 96793
