Evelyn “Blondie” Tavares was born on September 9, 1923, in Paia, HI, to the late Mr. Frank & Mrs. Mary Medeiros. Blondie worked for the Pineapple Cannery and HC&S, but really found her place working as a caretaker for Christ the King church. Blondie was very faithful to her religion, caring, selfless, and independent. She would always put others before herself, and when necessary, she told you exactly how it was. She loved to sing, cook, do gardening and play her harmonica.
Blondie is pre deceased by her husband, Louis Tavares; and son, Anthony “Kako” (Lauliuma) Vargas.
Blondie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Robert (Agustina) Medeiros, Richard (Pamela, deceased) Vargas, Joseph (Belinda) Vargas and Paul (Lisa) Vargas; daughters, Rose Marie Tomas, and Janet Vargas Manibog; 30 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; 40 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge the special care that Mr. & Mrs. Larry Ublias provided to mom.
