Florence Kiyoko Hashimura's Obituary
Florence Kiyoko Hashimura, 87 of Lahaina, Maui, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016, in Wailuku with her family and foster- family around her and Hospice Maui assisting.
Services honoring Mrs. Hashimura will be held on June 25, 2016, at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and memorial service to follow at 11:00. She will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm.at Maui Memorial Park... "Garden of Meditation". Family request casual attire or as she loved….the colors of Aloha.
Florence was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Puunene, Maui, to Hirokichi and Yoshiko (Morimoto) Yamashita, of Kahului and graduated from Baldwin High School. She lived a busy working life, but the longest was when she retired from the Maui Sheraton Hotel in 1990, after 27 years in the Food and Beverage (Pantry) department.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Sadao "Mimi" Hashimura; brother-and-sister-in-law, Yoshio and Blanche Yamashita; sister, Caroline Kiyotoki; and brother-in-law, Siegfred Kagawa.
She is survived by her sister, Betsy Kagawa; brother-in-law, Stanley Kiyotoki; daughter, Annette (Romel) Martin; son, Galen Hashimura; grandsons, Jordan Martin & Jonathan (Cynthia) Hashimura; and great-granddaughter Mila Hashimura.
She also leaves behind many caring cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws, all the Yamashita, Hashimura-Yoshino and Bedoya ohana, whom always made her feel so special and loved with their visits and treats.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the care-givers of their moms Foster-home (Bermudez Family ) and Hospice Maui for their compassion and care of their mom, and also their family and friends for their love and support and Nakamura Mortuary with all their assistance.
