Florence Fusako Anbe Okamoto's Obituary
Florence Fusako Anbe Okamoto, 93, of Wailuku, went peacefully home to our Lord on July 1, 2014 at Kalama Heights under care of Hospice Maui. She was born on May 21, 1921, in Wailuku, to Heiji and Hakuyo Anbe and was the second of five children.
Flo was married to Joseph Kazuhiko Okamoto (deceased).
She was a laboratory worker for Maui Land & Pineapple Company but found time for her many interests - cooking, sewing, golfing, hiking, and reading.
She is survived by her sons, Roy T. Okamoto, Edwin K. (Anne) Okamoto and daughter, JoAnn M. (Howard) Umehira, sister Gladys (Thomas) Blondin and brother Natsuo (Joan) Anbe, and grandchildren Jennifer Hoskinson, Kerri (Ryan) Narasaki, Todd (Tiffany) Umehira, Jodie (Brian) Brennan, and 7 great-grandchildren.
We will miss her presence in our lives and will try to carry on her legacy of being kind to everyone we meet.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Nakamura Mortuary. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park. Casual Hawaiian Attire, please.
