Florence Fukuyo Yamada's Obituary
Florence Fukuyo Yamada, 93, of Kula, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2017 at Hale Makua -Kahului.
Services honoring Mrs. Yamada were held privately at her request.
Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
Florence was born on September 8, 1923 in Hilo, Hawaii to Shoichi and Waki Kodama. After graduating from Hilo High school, she met and married William Tetsuo Yamada. Together they would move to Maui, raise five children, and farm for over 60 years. She will be remembered by her family for her koko, maki sushi, salad dressing and flowers.
Mrs. Yamada was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Mr. William Tetsuo Yamada and daughter-in-law, Darlene Yamada. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Ann (Gordon) Kusunoki & Sue (Wade) Hiraga; sons, Wayne (Valerie), Allan (Sandra), Gayle Yamada; sister, Marion Lovings; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
