Florito Igarta's Obituary
Florito Igarta, 76, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully at Maui Memorial Medical Center on April 12, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Igarta will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church. On Friday, May 4, visitation will begin at 6:30pm, with prayer service beginning at 8:30pm. On Saturday, May 5, visitation will begin at 9:00am, with mass beginning at 11:00am. Florito will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 12:00pm.
Florito was born on August 18, 1941 in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Phils. His parents were Guillermo Igarta, Genara Bueno Igarta and Presentacion Igarta. On January 1, 1976 , he married his love, Remedios Ardena, and together they raised three children. After graduating from the University of the East, with a degree in business administration and went on to work for the Municipal Government of Sinait Ilocos Sur, Philippines, the National Bookstore and the Bureau of Treasury. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as an Acolyte in Sinait Church in the Philippines. Following his retirement in the Philippines, Florito and Remedios moved to Maui, where he began working as a steward at the Ritz Carlton. When he wasn’t working, Florito could be found working in his garden, spending time with his family, and attending St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Mr. Igarta leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 42 years, Mrs. Remedios Igarta; daughter, Abigail Igarta; sons, Benedict (Jennifer) Igarta; Christian Igarta (Keoni Mawae) & Randolf Igarta. He is also survived by grandsons, Lance, Dave, Rizen & Guille; sister, Angie (Warlito) Lived and brother, Orlando (Remia) Igarta.
