Geofrey T. Tagayuna's Obituary
Geofrey T. Tagayuna, 69, of Napili, Maui, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
Geofrey was born on August 1, 1956, to the late Marcelo and Marciana Tagayuna in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
He married his beloved wife, Dionicia, in 1999, and together they raised three children: Crysel John, James Ryan, and Jeffrelyn. Geofrey immigrated to America in 1997 in search of a better life. He worked multiple jobs, including at Sansei Kapalua and Napili Market, but dedicated 22 years to the Ritz Carlton, Maui, Kapalua, where he worked his way up to the position of Lead Stewarding.
In his spare time, Geofrey enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, cooking, and watching the Game Show Network, Eat Bulaga, as well as NBA basketball games, especially during the season, supporting his Lakers team.
Geofrey's bright smile, generosity, and love for his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His passing has left a void for his family, friends, and many others whose lives he touched. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way he lived and the profound impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dionicia Tagayuna; sons Crysel John and James Ryan; daughter Jeffrelyn (Ariel); mother Marciana Tagayuna; sisters Precy Andres and Shirley (Windell) Larson; and brothers Efren (Cora) Tagayona and Roman (Christine) Tagayuna. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Geofrey is predeceased by his father, Marcelo Tagayuna, eldest son Jerold Mark, and brothers Alex and Reynald Tagayuna.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Nakamura Mortuary. A public viewing will be held at 6:00 PM. The services will continue on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Nakamura Mortuary from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A public viewing will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Maui Memorial Park, Maui View West, at 12:30 PM.
