George William Pluchos' Obituary
George Pluchos, 60, of Kihei, passed away on August 21, 2013, at his home, under the care of Hospice Maui, and with his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at their church, Kihei Lutheran, on September 28, 2013, at 11am. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
George was born on May 1, 1953, in Portland, Oregon. He retired from management in Health and Safety Compliance and Operations from United Parcel Service in 2008, where upon he moved with his family to Maui in 2009. George enjoyed walking the beaches with their dog Lilo, reading, crossword puzzles, golf, and volunteering for the Maui Hawksbill Turtle Project. He especially enjoyed winning his division in the Seabury Hall Golf Tournament with brother in law Steve Olsen in 2012!
George will be remembered most for his incredible wit and humor, and his ability to make everyone smile.
George is survived by his wife, Connie Garlock Pluchos; daughters, Katherine Ruth (Jasen David) Hartford, Emily Carol Pluchos; mother, Bernice (Sullivan) Pluchos; brothers, Greg (Kathy) Pluchos, Bill (Linda) Sullivan, Pete (MarySue) Sullivan, Dan (Sue) Sullivan, Tom (Camille) Sullivan; sisters, Peggy (Chuck) Renwick, Patty Juravic; brothers and sister in law, Steve (Carol Garlock) Olsen, Donald R. Garlock; and many loving extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Maui, Pacific Cancer Institute, Kihei Lutheran Church, and Hawaii Wildlife Fund.
