I was so sorry to learn of Gerry's passing--from my friend Sally in Honolulu, who saw her obituary. Gerry was our suite-mate at the University of Hawaii (Frear Hall) during the summer of 1971. Sally, Loren, Bonnie, and I spent many fun hours with Gerry--and I have such treasured memories and photos of those days. She was one of those people with whom I instantly connected. I'll never forget her smile and charming personality--and our long chats. We corresponded for some time after that fun six-week summer--and then lost track of each other, sad to say (no doubt since I moved several times during those following years). I've never forgotten Gerry. After a teaching career I became a travel writer and was just in Maui in June on a press trip--and thought of her. I'm so sorry now that after all these years I didn't try to re-connect. She was one of those special people who came into my life--however long ago and however briefly--and who I never forgot. God bless you, Gerry.

The Maui Jaycee Women alumni is saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. She was a great member with an infectious smile and a go-for-broke attitude. She was always trying to put together group reunions. I also worked at a business that was on her route. She was one of the rare postal workers that always had a smile, a cheerful attitude and a spring in her step. She will be greatly missed.

Gerry was the bright and cheerful one throughout our grade and high school years together. Would see her shopping at the mall or at Saturday evening mass with her Mom. Always such a greeter and so eager to share her positive feelings. My heartfelt condolences to her family. She is greatly missed!

I had the opportunity to travel with Gerry to the mainland. She was excellent in finding all the great places to go. I had the pleasure of meeting her as she delivered mail to my workplace. She was very kind and always a pleasure to be with. I enjoyed hearing all of her travel stories. She will be missed.

Geri and I were in highschool together and have worked together at Wailuku P.O for the past twenty-eight years. I'll really miss her. Thanks, Geri, for planning all those work parties/dinners....you were always so good at 'doing for others' and helping out....I'll really miss you. Aloha, Sue.
