Glorin Alboro's Obituary
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Glorin Alboro, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, after a long illness. She was 89 years old. Born in Oahu, she raised her family in Lahaina, Maui. Glorin was a cherished member of the Lahaina community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A devoted mother, loyal wife, and loving grandmother and great-grandmother, Glorin's life was a testament to her kindness and dedication. Her unwavering love for her family was matched only by her commitment to her community. Over the years, she actively contributed to Maui by working with the ILWU and retired as a bartender at the Royal Lahaina Hotel. She was also an enthusiastic participant in the Kaunoa Senior Center hula halau and enjoyed playing tennis, which brought her immense joy.
Glorin is survived by her brother Pete Calpito and five children: Doreen Alboro, Sandra Alboro, Laura Yamashiro-Alboro (Dean Owan), Faustino Jr. (Lori Koyama-Alboro), and Ricardo Alboro. She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Steven Hew, Jaiome (Leinaala) Alboro, Kanani (Johnny) Garso, Kamaehu (Ben) Cantwell, Lukela Alboro, Ziva Alboro, Kayla (Pono) Matsumoto, and Marisa (Mauricio) Castro. Glorin is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Kaimilani, Kye-Kala'e Kukahiko, Zaylen, Zaiden, Zaesten, Hau'oli, Ella, Ipo, and Kule'a.
A service to honor Glorin's life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Sacred Hearts Mission Church, 500 Office Road, Kapalua, HI. The viewing and visitation over her ashes will occur from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
