Harold Yasuhide Nagamine's Obituary
Mr. Harold Yasuhide Nagamine Jr., of Kahului, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
Services honoring Mr. Nagamine will be held at Kahului Union Church on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Visitation will begin at 9:00am with services beginning at 10:00am. Mr. Nagamine will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30pm. Casual attire please.
Harold was born on February 3, 1935 in Lahaina, to Harold Sr. & Umeko “Helen” Nagamine. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and upon his return began taking business classes at Maui Technical School, while continuing his service with the Hawaii Army National Guard. It was there he met the love of his life, Marion Nouchi. The two would marry a few years later and raise two sons together. When the opportunity arose, Mr. Nagamine earned his Bachelor’s degree in photography from the Brooks Institute. Once back in Hawaii, he became a photographic lab technician for the police department, where he would eventually retire after a long career in 1990. His family will fondly remember fishing and camping trips, baseball games and worldwide travel with Mr. Nagamine.
Mr. Nagamine was predeceased by his parents, Harold Sr. & Umeko “Helen” Nagamine; and sisters, Mildred Yoshimura & Helen Matsumoto. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 55 years, Marion Nagamine, sons, Eric (Jennifer) & Duane Nagamine; grandchildren, Rachel, Logan & Luke Nagamine, and their cherished dog, Ace.
