Kubis, Harry Richard's Obituary
Gabriel (Harry) Kubis, 75, passed away on December 6, 2024, on his beloved island of Maui, Hawai’i, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Gabriel, known for his vibrant personality and unique spirit, leaves behind a legacy of unconventional living and unwavering zest for life.
He is survived by his son, Noah Kubis, of Haiku and Hana, his daughter, Natasha Kubis, her husband Janez, and their daughter, Lana Ella, in Slovenia; his daughter Dara Reckard, who is currently serving in the Peace Corps in North Macedonia: and his daughter Allison Hovorka, who resides in Mesa, Arizona, with her family. Gabriel was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Nancy Whetstine and Susan Givens, both of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Sharon Gleason of Chicago, Illinois, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, including his beloved cousin Mark Jesse, (Wife Ursula), and Pat and Roger Jesse, of Chicago, Illinois.
Gabriel is also survived by Brenda Burke, his longtime friend, former wife, and the mother of their children, Noah and Natasha, who cared for him in her home during his final days, along with Noah and the support of the compassionate team at Hospice of Maui.
