Hisao Fukutani's Obituary
Hisao Fukutani, 93, of Wailuku, retired painting estimator and self-taught musician. He peacefully passed on June 4, 2016 to reunite with his loving wife of fifty nine years, Noriko.
He was born on February 11, 1923 in Honolulu to Uhei and Taka Fukutani (deceased). He was predeceased by brother Masaru (Mabel), sisters, June (Richard) Murakami and Hanae (Henry) Uyeda.
He is survived by daughters Jessie (Earl) Matsunaga, Rene (Robert) Kawachi, son, Brian (Arleen); Brothers Saichi Yoshimi, sister Florence (Jits) Yamamota; eight grandchildren and twelve great children.
He loved fishing, gardening, cooking and playing Hawaiian music on his steel guitar and Ukulele. Ballroom dancing with Noriko was his treasured memory. In his golden years he enjoyed making sushi and ice cream for family get-togethers.
He passed on his many talents to his cherished grandchildren. A private celebration of his life was held by family on July 9, 2016.
