Huberta “Sista” Mendiola, 82, of Wailuku, died on Dec. 17, 2013 at Hale Makua Kahului.
Visitation will begin at 6pm, Fri., Jan. 10, 2014, with service at 7pm at Nakamura Mortuary and continuing on Oahu, at 10am on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 with service at 11am at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Burial will follow at 1:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl. In memory of “Sista”, the family requests wearing your favorite red outfit.
Mrs. Mendiola was born on Dec. 22, 1930 in Honolulu. She was a cashier in the hotel industry.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Darryl) Cullen, Hattie (Roy) Anderson; sons, Scott Mahoney, John (Rosemary) Mahoney, Robert (Roberta) Mahoney, Gerald (Daphne) Mendiola, Phillip (Jody) Mendiola III; sisters, Marion (Gayle) Merril, Roena (James) Vasconcellas; 24 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
