James Moikeha Honokaupu Sr.'s Obituary
James Moikeha Honokaupu known to many as KIMO, went home to the lord with his loved ones by his side on May 15, 2025. Kimo was born in Kailua Maui on April 17, 1944 surrounded with a big loving family. He was a great provider for his family, a man with style, who enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, a proud truck driver that kept his truck shiny. He was an awesome singer and musician, a man that made us all laugh. Most importantly he was a family man that loved his family dearly and always made time and memories with them.
Kimo is predeceased by his wife Linda Honokaupu, Granddaughter Kristy Kahahane, great granddaughter Kristy Kahalekai, and great grandson Jaraiss Keahi- Honokaupu.
Kimo is survived by his sons James Honokaupu Jr, Jeffrey Honokaupu, John (Kelcy) Honokaupu, and Makane Honokaupu. Daughters Christine Kahahane, and Joycelynn (Andrew) Soto. Brothers Andrew (Theresa) Honokaupu, and Robert (Della) Honokaupu. Hanai sister Ipo Burns. Grandchildren 15 and Great Grandchildren 34.
Services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Friday June 20, 2025, public viewing at 6pm, and service at 7pm.
