James "Jim" Yaple's Obituary
James "Jim" Yaple, 67, of Kihei, HI passed on the 15th of November, 2020 with his wife and daughter by his side.
He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 7th, 1953. Son of late Lavon Alloway Yaple and Robert Yaple, brother of late Jack Yaple. He served his community with his work as a search and rescue diver, mechanic, boat captain, engineer, carpenter, masseuse, and Jin Shin Jyutsu teacher.
He was a resident of Maui for over 40 years, and touched the lives of many that he met with his outgoing, creative, strong-willed, hard-working, and caring nature. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, meeting new folks at Big Beach, taking photographs, diving, and working on creative projects.
After being diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer, he took treatments and procedures with a positive attitude, strength and determination. He even lived past his expiration date, as he would say. He was an inspiration to many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Midori; daughters Crystal and Wendy; two grandchildren, Justin and Megan; many nieces and nephews including Tammi, Misty, and Rusty; great nieces and nephews including Cyle, Rachel, Elena, Payge, and Brynn; along with many other family members and friends.
Jim's ashes will be scattered at a later time. His love and laughter will always live on in our hearts and memories.
