Janet Bailey Bishop's Obituary
Janet Bailey Bishop, 92 of Wailuku, died peacefully at home on July 30th, 2017. She was surrounded by three generations of her loving family.
Services honoring “TuTu” Janet will be held on Saturday August 5th, 2017 at the Wailuku Union Church. The church will be open to the public starting at 5pm and the service will begin at 6pm followed by a reception in the church hall. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements.
Janet was born on July 7th, 1925 to George and Helen (Caldwell) Bailey in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the eldest of three children. She and her late husband John C. Bishop moved to Denver, Colorado in 1950 and raised their three children there. She moved to Maui to live with her daughter and family in 1986. She was the secretary and bookkeeper for 25 years at Wailuku Union Church. She started the Food Pantry at the church and ran it for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and both of her younger brothers. She is survived by her 3 children, Cathy Kalehuawehe (Angel), Ted Bishop and John C. Bishop, Jr. (Jill); 5 grandchildren - Chad (Irma), Christy (Matt), Caan (Monica), Suki (John), Jeremy (Nina); 10 greatgrandchildren – Leah, Noah, Angel, Avery, Ayden, Connor, Maddy, Ella, Lena and Lester.
Her ashes will be spread by the immediate family from ocean to ocean from Makena, Maui to Old Saybrook, Connecticut and placed below the family plaque in Hannover, New Hampshire.
