Jaye Frances Chieko Arakaki's Obituary
On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Jaye Francis Chieko (Adams) Arakaki, loving wife, mother, Sister, Aunty, Ama, and Friend passed away at Queenʻs Medical Center on O’ahu, Hawai’i.
Jaye was born on July 13, 1959, at St. Francis Hospital on O’ahu but was raised on the island of Maui.
Jaye met the love of her life, and best friend Brian Arakaki and was married in 1990. They were blessed with (2) sons, Jarrin and Bryson. The two raised their family in Happy Valley for over 30 years.
Jaye was the Operation Manager for Ooka Supermarket for over 28 yrs before transitioning to Baldwin High School as the Account Clerk to SASA for 17yrs and most recently became the Private Secretary for the DOE.
Jaye had a love for shopping, traveling, planning trip itineraries, was a food enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Jaye was known for being the ultimate Baldwin Bear, team mom, quick-witted women with an infectious smile, a generous heart, and compassionate spirit.
Jaye was survived by her loving husband Brian, sons, Jarrin(Kahala)Arakaki & Bryson (KayDee) Arakaki, Granddaughters, Aria, Niki & Rowyn Arakaki, Brother, Lloyd (Amanda) Adams, Sisters, Donna(Gregg) Tanaka, & Rachel (Marc) Adams, Nieces, Ashlee(Melissa) Nakamura, Amber(Casey) Nakamura, Taylor Jade Caliva, Alissa(Roberto) Nakamura, Sydney Adams, Nephews, Blake Nakamura, Kamahoe(Bri) Caliva, Jeffrey Adams, Cody Tanaka, Kala’e Tanaka, & Hau’oli Caliva.
She is predeceased by her sister, Genie Adams, mother, Mabel Adams, father, Richard Adams.
Jaye’s funeral service will be held at Baldwin High School’s gymnasium on October 5th, 2024. Viewing will be at 9am - 11am with the funeral service following thereafter. Light refreshments will be provided.
