Joe Marshalla's Obituary
“Life is so Precious,
Death comes to all.
Please give while you're living,
Let’s love one and all,
Love one and all . . .
Let’s love one and all!
‘Cause the only reason we’re alive
is to Uplift and Serve . . .
Nurturing everyone, everything
here on the earth.”
From the song “Love One and All” . . . by Joe Marshalla
Joe Marshalla, born Joseph James Marshalla, on November 15, 1962 in Bloomingdale, Illinois, passed on from this life on December 20, 2024, the day of the Winter Solstice, in his warm and loving home, in Maui, Hawaii.
He is survived by his life partner, 3 children, 5 siblings, and hanai family. He was predeceased by his parents.
The core principles that Joe embodied and drove his life were LOVE — and How to literally make things the best they can be for everyone and everything.
These were the golden threads that wove together his every act . . . from his most personal relationships to his professional endeavors.
He found that the only reasonable answer to the question, “What is the purpose and function of Human beings?” . . . was that: “Human beings exist and are here to uplift and nurture life. All life.”
Joe was a philosopher, scientist, teacher, course designer, lecturer, counselor, father, grandfather, environmentalist, sustainability advocate, and seasoned musician… and as he would say: “…all inside a walking, talking, vibrant and radiant, ambulatory water balloon. Ha!”
Joe lived his life in a continuous exploration into the depths of the human/spiritual experience. He constantly looked for, and exercised, ways of bringing peace, love and harmony into this world.
His main talent in life was assisting people in deeply examining all the aspects of their perceptions and their beliefs about their lives in order to help them discover, and then empower, their true authentic self. Indeed, his main talent lives on through his book (REPEATLESSNESS — An Owner’s Manual for the Human Mind), his exceptionally elevating educational courses, his wonderful website, and his truly extraordinary music.
Joe’s personal touch and public presence were incredible.
Joe’s amazing music, voice, stories . . . his irresistible, contagious laughter, and wonderful sense of humor . . . the playfulness and joy of his inner child, his unique genius, his being a big-hearted empath, stand-up individual, and truly great friend . . . his being a fierce activist for planetary well-being . . . all of the systems he created that literally made things the best they can be for everyone and everything — from the most mundane task to the most monumental task . . . his contributions to the transformational inner work and ever-evolving consciousness in individuals and various groups . . . through his book, free lectures, course material, documentary appearances, and real-time personal conversations . . . that also revolutionized and guided the way for many change agents on the planet . . . the list goes on!
Dr. Joe Marshalla was a true public servant who spent his entire life assisting one cause or another. From starting the first public school recycling program in Illinois at age 11, to saving whales, rainforests, and old growth forests, to closing a nuclear power plant, starting food co-ops and stopping water fluoridation in multiple cities, as well as other social concerns, he has dedicated his life to promoting sustainable practices, and to protecting people and the environment. His social movement skills came to international attention from being one of the founders of, and the campaign director for, the SHAKA Movement and co-author of the Maui GMO Crop Moratorium.
Joe Marshalla Ph.D. was a leading expert on the development of human personality and its perception of reality. Beyond the scope of his psychological, philosophical and integrative health expertise, he was also an expert project coordinator with over thirty years of experience in educational event planning, video production, music production, concert production/promotion, business consulting, corporate training, publishing, marketing, course creation and television production. He was also a performing artist, teacher and lecturer with over 1800 performances, lectures, seminars and presentations to his credit, and he is best known for his bestselling book, Repeatlessness – An Owner’s Manual for the Human Mind, which was chosen as one of the “Top Five Books in the world to help change your perception of reality” by Spirit Science.
Dr. Joe Marshalla is featured in over 20 documentary films and lectures. His teachings have been viewed by over 20 million people worldwide and he is recognized as one of the visionary consciousness leaders of our time. Dr. Joe was, indeed, a living example of what one person can do while in the service of others — living his life finding and implementing inner and outer environmental solutions for all of humanity.
Joe was devoted to living life by abiding and embodying all principles that would help uplift and nurture all life. He lived a life of compassion, kindness, selfless service, diligence, perseverance, peacefulness, awareness, truthfulness, peaceful non-compliance, and dedication to excellence . . . and he was a hands-on, joyous, big-hearted man.
Joe lived by the fundamental principle of always leaving things better than you found them. He would always know how to generate a safe place around a person’s being so as to give others a feeling of being truly loved and seen. Joe said that our true nature is the S.O.U.L., i.e., the Spirit of Unconditional Love.
Joe was a living example of how life can be lived on the planet . . . and of how we can be the best we can be for everyone and everything. He was the embodiment of the possibility of the kind of life one can live . . . and the kind of world that we can build together.
“I’m living my life
For what I want to see in this world
I’m giving my life
For all that’s right in this world
Extending my life
For all who need in this world
Expressing my rights
As a sovereign being in this world
And I’m helping everyone and everything
‘Cause there’s nothing else for me
That has meaning”
From the song “Living My Life” . . . by Joe Marshalla
