John "Rock" Belli Babcock's Obituary
Rock Babcock has passed away at his home in Kula, aged 63. After moving to Maui in 1973, Rock quickly gained a reputation as a fine carpenter and woodworker. There are a number of beautifully crafted homes that are a testament to his skills. He was also a master craftsman building fine furniture. Rock was a veteran of the Vietnam War, SP4 last serving with the 497 Engineers.A slight figure with a larger than life capacity and a wonderful humor, Rock was a person who valued quality-quality in relationships, quality in workmanship, quality of life. He was kind, genuine and humble. A gentle man.Rock Babcock is survived by his wife Deborah, father Frank Richard Babcock, sisters Donna Babcock, Joan Frame, and Janice Decker. He will be laid to rest at the Veteran’s cemetery on Baldwin Ave. Makawao at 10:00a.m. Friday June 29th. A memorial reception for friends and family will be held on Saturday June 30th at the home of David and Martha Turner, 1125 Piiholo Rd. Olinda from 12:00-3:00p.m.
