Joyce Sumako Endo's Obituary
Joyce Sumako Endo, 82, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2017, under the compassionate care of Islands Hospice, with her loving family by her side.
Services honoring Mrs. Endo will be held at Wailuku Hongwanji Mission on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Visitation will begin at 3:30pm, with services beginning at 4:30pm. A gathering with family will follow.
Joyce was born in Wailuku on January 14, 1935 to Niichiro & Tatsu Kamemoto. After graduating from Baldwin High School in 1953, Joyce met her love, Mr. Wallace Endo. They married in 1958, and raised 3 children together. Joyce was an office clerk for Endo Painting Service until she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing at Maui Country Club, traveling, and playing Paiut with friends. She will be remembered by friends and family as a social, welcoming and generous woman. They will also greatly miss her wonderful cooking.
Mrs. Endo was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Mr. Wallace Endo, and their daughter, Penny Lou Endo. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Stephanie (Gary) Nagai; son, Gregory (Lisa) Endo; grandchildren, Ian & Sean Domingo, Andrew & Alexa Nagai and Zalen & Jalene (Teri Over) Endo. Joyce is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Roy) Okazaki of Honolulu; brothers, Mitsugi Kamemoto of Honolulu & Stanley (Kayo) Kamemoto of Torrance, CA.; and many thanks to her nephew and caregiver, Darryl Kamemoto.
