Juan Dionio Cababat's Obituary
Juan Dionio Cababat, 61, of Kihei transitioned to heaven from his home on January 23, 2024. He was born on March 28, 1962 in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines and moved to Maui in 1988. One of his earlier careers was a liquor stock clerk at Foodland, where he eventually took his interest in mixology and worked as a bartender at the former Maui Prince Hotel for the majority of his life here.
Juan is known to be persevering–that despite the difficulties faced in life, he kept moving forward. He was also known for his caring and humorous personality, hard work and especially the love that he had for his family. Juan is the youngest of 10 siblings. He had a close relationship with them–sticking together like best friends, and treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He loved to go for jogs along the beach, sing, play the guitar, garden, and most of all, to make other people smile.
He is survived by his first love, Merly Cababat; 5 children; sons Ferdinand Cababat, Emmanuel (Chanelle) Cababat, Joseph (Joevanni) Camacho, Kristopher Cababat, and daughter Kuulei (Matt) Aganos; 9 grandchildren: Kasey, Kelsey, Isaiah, Matthew, Zenlijah, Cataleya, Khryztin, Kaizen, and Levi; and siblings Emilia Badua, Julie Guerra, Benito Cababat, Euprecinia Robinion and Liza Okawa.
