Judita Buesa Dagdag's Obituary
Judita Buesa Dagdag, 72, of Waiehu, Maui, passed away at home peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, September 19, 2022 under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on June 30, 1950 to the late Domingo and Victoria Dagdag.
Judita immigrated to Hawaii in 1966 with her parents and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1968. In the same year, she was crowned Miss Maui Filipina. She attended Maui Community College and later worked as a receptionist in the off of Dr. Jose Chiaco.
In the mid 80's, Judita and her husband, Fred, made the decision to open a care home and become caregivers to seniors and persons with disabilities, while caring for her own parents and children. She served as a care home operator for over 35 years.
Judita loved cooking and gardening. If you were her friend on Facebook, you would have seen numerous posts containing photos of the delicious dishes that she prepared and her collection of orchids, air plants, and succulents. She enjoyed social media and being able to connect with family and friends all over the world.
Judita is survived by her children, Rowena (Herman) Dagdag-Andaya and Frederick (Lori) Dagdag, 5 grandchildren, Skyler Dagdag, Seanna Dagdag, Landyn Dagdag, Herman "Trey" Andaya, III and Lauren Andaya. She is also survived by her brothers Dr. Edward (Gloria) Dag and Benjamin (MaryLyn) Dag, and hanai sister Rose (Alfonso) Angel. She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanette Bernardo and her husband Fred C. Dagdag, who passed away on November 13, 2021.
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, prayer service at 6:30am.
Visitation will continue at St. Anthony Church on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:30am followed by the Eulogy. Family and friends are encouraged to participate in the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial to follow at 12:30pm at Maui Memorial Park, Garden of Meditation.
