Jusepina Callos' Obituary
Our dear mother, sister, and grandmother, and great-grandmother Jusepina Batoon Callos passed away on August 14, 2025. Born on November 14th, 1936 in Kahului Maui. Jusepina was third oldest out of six children Jusepina moved to the Philippines at 13 where she lived at met her husband, Loreto Callos Sr. There she married and gave birth to 3 sons. In 1978, Jusepina was able to save enough money as
a Pineapple picker to fly her family to Hawaii. They first moved briefly on Lanai before settling in Spanish B on Maui. Jusepina later became a housekeeper at Kamaole Sands where she retired
at 62. She was predeceased by her parents Pedro and Antonia Batoon. She is also predeceased by her husband, Loreto Callos Sr. She is survived by her son, Loreto (Claire - Predeceased) Callos Jr, Joe Callos, Jonathan “Kulu” (Cheryl) Callos and her grandchildren; Desiree (Cesar) Corpuz Jr, Jeanette, Clayton (Ashley), Jacob (Daisy), Jaymes, Chelsea and seven great-grandchildren; Sadie, Bryson, Laney, Camryn, Gianna, Kai and Marley; siblings Delores (predeceased), Mariano (predeceased), Christie (predeceased), Bergilio (predeceased), and Ben. Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the nurses at Maui Adult Day Care, the doctors, nurses, and at Maui Memorial Medical Center and to the kind team at Hospice Maui for their compassion and great care of Jusepina. Viewing will take place on Thursday, October 9th, 2025 at Nakamura Mortuary 5:30pm -8pm and Celebration of Life to follow on Friday, October 10th, 2025 from 9:30am – 12:00pm and burial at Maui Memorial Park at 12:30pm.
