Kay Kuniko Hedani
April 3, 1929 - April 22, 2023
Kay Kuniko Hedani passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023. She was born in Lahaina, Maui on April 3, 1929, to Eitaro and Toshie Kishi (both deceased).
She is survived by sons Ryan (Sharon), and Scott. Brother Toshio (Yvonne) Kishi, sisters in laws; Evelyn Kishi, and Marian Kishi and Margaret Kishi. Grandson Jared Hedani and Granddaughter Harley Hedani, numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Also, survived by Erice, Maya, Ethan, and Carter Nouchi and Rian, Chanda, Eli, and Sophie Nouchi.
She is predeceased by her husband Stanley Akito Hedani and her brothers Richard Kazuo Kishi, Tsuru Kishi, Harold Kameo Kishi (Joyce-deceased), Robert Yukio Kishi, Haruo Kishi and sister Shizue Yabui (Toshio-deceased).
Mom worked at the State Department of Taxation until her retirement.
Family would like to thank Island Hospice for the care they provided and a huge mahalo to Maryfe, Tony, Dwayne and Dwyneth Quejo and Debbie Toda for the care of our mom. Also, to Reverend John Hara, members from Kahului Jodo Mission, Nissei Daycare Center, Hale Makua and the Maui County Dept. of Aging and Kaunoa Lunch Program.
Mom enjoyed traveling to Vegas, working in the yard, watching UH sports, playing tetris and word puzzles.
Private services were held and NO Koden.
