Kay Akie Ogasawara's Obituary
Kay Akie Ogasawara, 69, passed away on June 27, 2024, at her home under the compassionate care of Hospice Maui. She was surrounded by love and support from her wonderful family. She worked for the County of Maui for 42 years at various departments. She was born on October 5, 1954.
Kay is survived by her beautiful children, son, Ty Ogasawara; daughter, Mari Stover (Brandon) and grandsons, Trey Sunabe and Brennon Michael Stover; mother, Natsue Kametani; siblings, Carol (Allan) Nagano, Joan Kawahara, Grace Polido, Ricky Kametani, and Avis (Joseph) Tumpap. She was predeceased by her father Isao Kametani and husband, Michael Ogasawara.
Her life will be celebrated at the Makawao Hongwanji Mission on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Kay shares her heartfelt aloha to her wonderful family and special friends in making her life well lived. Always live your life in harmony and balance. Take time to think, it is the source of power. Take time to pray, it is the greatest power on earth. Take time to love and to be loved, it is a God-given privilege. Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness. Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul. Take time to give, it is too short a day to be selfish. Take time to play, it is the secret of perpetual youth. Take time to work, it is the price of success.
