Kazuo S. Delos Santos' Obituary
Kazuo S. Delos Santos July 24, 1937 - April 6, 2022
Retired Maui Police Lieutenant, mentor and loving father Kazuo S. Delos Santos passed away on April 6, 2022 at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones at his son’s residence in Waikapu.
Kazuo retired from the Maui Police Department on June 30, 1993 after serving 29 years on the force. He then worked another 10+ years as a security guard at the Kapalua Airport before finally enjoying retired life.
The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Kazuo. He loved working in the yard taking care of his orchids, exercising daily, spending time with his grandchildren and meeting with friends for breakfast at Jacks Inn.
He is survived by his companion of 32 years: Eloise Ouchi; three sons: Michael G. Delos Santos, Craig K. Delos Santos and Derrick C. Delos Santos; daughter: Lianne M.D.S. (Scott) Oshiro; sister: Eunice Taguchi; six grandchildren: Megan Delos Santos, Carolyn Suzuki, Matthew Delos Santos, Kailee Delos Santos, Travis Delos Santos and Arianna Oshiro; and two great-grandchildren: Talia Delos Santos and Ezekiel-Reign Ka’ae’a-Delos Santos. Kazuo is predeceased by his parents, Vicente and Dorothy, his wife, Carol (Galarita), and brother, Robert.
A service of remembrance is scheduled for May 5, 2022 (Thursday) at Nakamura’s Mortuary, 1218 Lower Main Street, Wailuku. Family viewing starts at 8:30 a.m.. Public viewing starts at 9:00 a.m.. Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Makawao Veterans Cemetery, 3355 Baldwin Avenue, Makawao
