Kenneth Albert Simpson's Obituary
Kenneth Albert Simpson, a remarkable individual with a passion for aviation and a zest for life, passed away on Maui. Born in Flint, Michigan, Ken made Maui his home in 1983. His legacy is woven with threads of adventure, dedication, and love for the skies and the sea.
Ken’s journey in the aviation industry began at a young age. He fearlessly explored experimental aircraft at Fort Rucker, leaving an indelible mark on the field. His tenure at Soloy Helicopters was transformative, where he ingeniously converted Hiller Piston aircraft into turbo shaft or jet engines. His expertise as an Aircraft Mechanic and Helicopter Pilot spanned over 50 years, culminating in the prestigious Charles Taylor award—the highest honor in aviation. Ken’s daring spirit also led him to become a Stunt Pilot, a role he embraced as a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
Beyond the cockpit, Ken reveled in the depths of the ocean as an avid scuba diver. The underwater world fascinated him, and he explored its mysteries with unwavering curiosity. Fishing was another passion that tugged at his heartstrings. Whether casting lines from the shore or venturing out on a boat, Ken found solace and joy in the rhythm of the waves.
Ken’s love for motorcycles was infectious. The wind in his hair, the open road ahead—these were the moments that fueled his spirit. Riding his motorcycles brought him a sense of freedom and camaraderie, connecting him to fellow enthusiasts and the beauty of the Hawaiian landscape.
Ken Simpson’s legacy is etched in the skies, the deep blue sea, and the winding roads of Maui. His memory will forever soar alongside the birds he once flew with and the fish he sought beneath the waves. Farewell, Ken—may your adventurous spirit continue to inspire us all. 🌟🛩️🌊🏍️
