Komei Uyehara, 88, of Pukalani, died on May 23, 2011 at Maui Memorial Medical Center.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sat., June 4 at Makawao Hongwanji Mission, with a service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date. The family requests casual attire.Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements.Mr. Uyehara was born on April 5, 1923 in Spreckelsville, Maui.He was a service technician & truck driver with Maui Land & Pineapple Co.He is survived by his wife, Fumiko Uyehara; sons, Wayne Uyehara and Brian Uyehara; daughters, Kathy (John) Harman, Faye (Tom Moon) Blomberg, and Sue Uyehara; brother-in-law, Fred Hasegawa; sisters, Lucille (Shoyei) Katena, Jane Miyahira and Edna (Tommy) Okazaki; grandchildren, Andrew Blomberg, Christi Hinchliffe and Aimee Hinchliffe.Achong, as he was also known by, loved golf and gardening.
