Laily Chowdry, 75, Kihei/Hana, died February 16, 2014 at her home in Kihei surrounded by a community of loved ones and caregivers.

Laily was born on February 13, 1939 in New York City. She was the daughter of Ibrahim Chowdry of New York (predeceased) and Catherine Torres, California.
Best known as the professional clown, Featherduster, Laily (aka Chrystal) was a prolific artist, actress, worked with autistic children for the DoE, at KAOI as traffic controller, was a notary, a taxi driver and medical transcriber.
She is survived by brother Noor (Michele) Chowdry Sr, neice Lillanne Wissell, nephew, Noor Chowdry Jr, great nephew Scott Sutter, great niece, Madison Sutter; sister Angie (Jerry) Mills, nephew Amir Morales, niece Amy Ann Torres; daughter Ayesha (Tom) Pacholke, grandson Zachary Tidwell, and hanai sister, Jamie (Jeremy) McOuat. Predeceased by her son, Karim Chowdry.
Laily held Buddhist beliefs and was an avid Sufi and Tara dancer. Her favorite pursuit was sharing her clowning magic, creating laughter, and shaping balloons and little and big hearts alike. Her motto was “Too much fun.”
