Laura Mae Ceballos' Obituary
Laura Mae Ceballos, 63, of Pa'ia, Maui, sadly passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 29, 1960 in Wailuku, Maui and grew up in the sugar cane plantation town of Pa'ia, Maui with her five siblings; attended Pa'ia Elementary School and then graduated from Maui High School. After some years of staying home to raise her children and to help care for her aging grandmother, she returned to work as an Educational Assistant at Pa'ia Elementary School then at Pukalani Elementary School. She also worked at Walmart as a Sales Associate for the past 24 years. Laura was a devout Catholic, serving the Lord at her home parish, Holy Rosary Church. She will be endlessly remembered by her husband, children, and grandchildren whom she loved, cared for, and nurtured dearly.
Laura is survived by her husband Oscar Ceballos; children Brandan (Brittany) Ceballos, Crystal (Rheyden) Lagazo, and Mitchell (Marison Tabon) Ceballos; grandchildren Devin Rey Ceballos-Lagazo, Sophia Mae Ceballos-Lagazo, Bailey Ceballos, Gavin Tabon-Ceballos, Brandan Ceballos, Jr., Braydan Ceballos, Anela Tabon-Ceballos, and Aiden Tabon-Ceballos; step-grandchild 'Iliahi Subiono; mother Mary Kuluhiwa Soliben; sisters Rebecca (Ernesto) Serrato and Esther (?Vicente) Sablan; brother William Soliben, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving father Lopo Soliben, Jr.; grandparents William and Dora Hardy Kuluhiwa, Lupu Soliben and Elizabeth Kaea Cabanting; brothers Larry Soliben and Thomas Soliben; and grandson Kaikoa Ceballos-Lagazo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku from 5pm-8pm, Prayer Service to start at 6:30pm. Church service over urn will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at Holy Rosary Church in Pa'ia from 10am-1pm, Mass to start at 11am.
