Laurina Galapia of Kahului, passed away peacefully at her home on May 15, 2024. Laurina was born & raised in Bacarra Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was predeceased by her mother Feliciana and father Baldomero Galapia as well as her sisters Eusebia Caldito, Dominga Cacas, Rosita Cordova, Mercedes Yayong, and brother Herbasio Galapia. She is survived by her brothers, Virgilio (Trinidad) Galapia, Regino (Laurena) Galapia along with many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Laurina migrated from the Philippines to Maui, Hi in February of 1995. Laurina worked at the Cannery for Maui Land & Pineapple until the company closed its doors. She then moved on to work at Waikapu Gardens until she retired at the age of 62.
Laurina also knows as “Mama Aurea” enjoyed her retirement at home while caring for her family as well as her beloved grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on FRIDAY, JUNE 28th, 2024.
Visitation will begin at 930-11:00am with mass starting promptly at 11am.
Burial to follow at Valley Isle Memorial Park, in Haiku at 2pm.
