Lawrence Atai Makuakane's Obituary
Lawrence Atai Makuakane, 84, of Wailuku, died on May 1, 2015, at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Visitation will be 10:00am on May 7, 2015, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints, Kahului, with services at 11:00am. Interment will follow, 1:00pm, at Maui Veteran’s Cemetery, Makawao.
Mr. Makuakane was born April 7, 1931, in Kahului, Kona, HI. He retired as a Boatswain Mate for the United States Coast Guard.
Mr. Makuakane was predeceased by his wife, Lauae Makuakane, and his granddaughter, Kaimanaokalani Fagaima. He survived by his son, Lawrence A. (Sharon) Makuakane; daughters, Pooui (Darin) Rano, and Pakulani (Fili) Fagaima; brother, Jack Makuakane; 19 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
