Leonora Nava's Obituary
A much-loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, cousin and friend, Leonora Sibayan Navarro Nava, 84, passed away on May 15, 2022 at Islands Hospice in Kahului, surrounded by family. She was born on November 15, 1937 in San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines. After migrating to Hawaii with her husband and four children in 1971, they settled down in Lahaina where she would live for all her life.
Leonora worked in the hospitality industry as a steward, first starting at Puamana Condominiums then moving on to the Royal Lahaina Resort and Marriott before retiring with Hyatt in 2000. During retirement she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, caring for her garden, and spending time with her loved ones. Family and friends will remember her as a dedicated mother and grandmother, hard-working, kind, and having a genuine thoughtfulness for others.
She is survived by children Jovita (Feliciano) Rayray, Jesus (Glen) Erica-Nava, Alfredo (Sharona) Nava, and Nida (Rogelio) Dela Cruz; grandchildren Mardy (Charmagne) Rayray, Marven Rayray, Almarie (Brad) Macloves, Shaun (Tiffany) Nava, and Cathy Nava; great-grandchildren Kayla Rayray, Shaelyn Nava, Dylan Nava, Kaylyn Rayray, Trasyn Nava, Trevyn Nava, Taysia Nava, Kailani Rayray, Beau Nava-Tihada, Elijah Macloves, Kalena Rayray, and Kahealani Rayray; and siblings Erlinda (Amado) Paragas, Avelino (Seberina) Navarro, Marcelina (Domingo) Tugas, Ernesto (Maria) Navarro, Elena (Rogelio) Diaz, Virginia (Romulo) Guzman, Rebecca (Eduardo) Peralta, and Rogelio (Vangie) Navarro.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leocadio E. Nava; great-grandchild Mason Macloves; parents Pedro and Paciencia Navarro; and siblings Julita Diaz and Dionisio Navarro.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku. Public viewing will be at 5:00pm with Service starting at 7:00pm. Then on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina with Public Viewing at 9:30am with Service starting at 10:30am and burial to follow at 12:30pm at Maui Memorial Park.
