Lilian Shizue Watanabe Maeda's Obituary
Lilian Shizue Watanabe Maeda, 96, a retired teacher at Wailuku Elementary School, loyal member of Iao United Church of Christ, and an active member of various community organizations, took her last breath on July 27th, 2016 in her home in Wailuku. She was a trail blazer for women taking a more active role in the church, a long time practitioner of the Japanese art of tea ceremony and poetry, and loved food and music.
She was survived by her son Alan (Bonnie), daughter, Amy, grand sons Luke Maeda and Kai Yamashita and great grand daughter Aubry and great grand son Kaiden.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Iao United Church of Christ on August 4th, 2016 at 10:30am to be followed by the reception there. The family requests no flowers and to wear bright aloha attire. She loved colors.
