Beloved Linda, I carry your light and love in my heart. Our friendship spanned some of the early years of raising our kids in Cormorant Landing, so many creative projects and schemes, Kari and Jordan joined at the hip trick-or-treating, a million birthday and holiday gal dinners with you and Regina and Nancy Wilson, and also Roxanne. We wrote some long letters (yep, actual U.S. postal mail) to each other between Maui and the NC mountains. And most recently the H.O.P.E. Book Group together on Zoom. I'm so happy you had all those years in Maui. You were always good at chasing your dreams and watching them come real. We could all learn a lot from your example! There's something my group of Mountain Spirit Sisters says aloud at Winter Solstice that feels important here because it reminds me so much of you. "I honor the Divine Light that shines within me, and I carry that Light out into the world." Precious friend, may your light shine on in each of the lives you touched so deeply.
Kim, Erik and Kari, my heart aches for you. Your mom and I were friends since day one at JSO. I miss my friend. 💔
Grandma(Linda Gilbertson) is one of my favorite people in the world! And I don’t like many people. I think of all the Christmas’s she has come over and have helped us with so many projects and fun ideas I have had, I know this will be a very hard Christmas without her. I can’t even begin to think how hard it will be without her. She was loved so much by me and my siblings, and all of my friends who have met her. They always told me how much they loved meeting her and how kind and funny she was. I will miss her so much but will always think of her and think of all of our memories together!
I meant Coach Becky and Roger Deary
We will be praying during this time here in Jacksonville (and in our hearts). She was such a loving kind hearted friend who loved her family. I’m so glad she got to be with you all to celebrate Karis wedding. Hold on to her memories and look for her signs as she will always be with you❤️🙏
Linda’s light always shined and it is still shining on all of us. She gets to celebrate my dad’s birthday with him today. Sending loving thoughts and prayers and will be there in spirit watching the sunset 😘
I met Linda, through my military career. She was a devout mother. She lit up the room when she walked in. Yelling at Erik for making the dog wipe its butt on the carpet. She adored Tony Boselli and the Jaguars. I can still hear her say his name. She will be missed. My deepest condolences to the Gilbertson family.
Linda loved her Grandbabies more than anything. And she was so proud of the people they are
A friend for only a short time, I had hoped we could play more in the wonderland of Maui. I will remember her now as I walk in the forest of Makawao where we had long walks. She was so happy and settled here, close to a daughter and the peaceful life the island offers. I offer that peaceful feeling to Linda now as she journeys on. May this peace also carry the family on wings of love that is so special from a mom and grandma.
