Lisa Hyong Un Ballao's Obituary
Lisa Hyong Un Ballao (nee Hahm Hyong Un) of Wailuku, Maui passed away on April 30, 2023, at 75 years of age due to complications from pneumonia. She is survived by her two sons, Alika Ballao (Nikki Kinoshita) and Kealiʻi Ballao from ex-husband George Ballao Jr, two grandchildren Alika-Jon Kinoshita-Ballao and Kali-Kahiau Kinoshita-Ballao, younger brother Hahm Hyong Jung of South Korea, and in-laws George and Barbara Ballao. She was born on December 2, 1947 in Unni-dong, Jongno-ku, Seoul, Korea to Hahm Jin Ku and Hong Soon Hee. Her siblings were Hahm Hyong Wang, Hahm Hyong Guk, Hahm Hyong Jung and Hahm Hyong Kwan.
Lisa worked for many years at various Maui hotels as a housekeeper and a laundry attendant. She is fondly remembered for her delicious Korean cooking and spicy kimchi. Her celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku, public viewing at 10:30 -11:30 am with service to start at 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The Family request NO Flowers. Leis will be accepted.
