Lisa Kathleen Kahale's Obituary
Lisa Kahale 65, died quietly in her sleep in the middle of the night on April 10, 2015 at her home in Pukalani on Maui, Hi. She had always said she wanted to die in her sleep being cuddled by her spouse. She got her wish. The night before when she went back to take her shower she called back asking her spouse if she was coming to bed. After hearing a resounding 'yes', Lisa replied “Yayayayayay, I can't wait for cuddles”. Those are her last words.
Such a beautiful, strong and powerful person. She had so many demons from her past that she was fighting. She had overcome the last one just the week before. Since a dramatic spiritual awakening in 2013, her life was starting to blossom in a new way.. These struggles are what gave Lisa these powerful abilities to see clearly, to forgive and at the same time to speak her truth without excuses. Everyone saw a very kind and loving person.
So many people have commented in social media on the huge difference she has made in their lives. More than a thousand people have posted or left comments for her. A typical post says they don’t shed tears for the people in their life that have passed – but here is a woman they have never met in person and they are crying their hearts out for her. Lisa has that kind of effect.
It was all of these trials that forged Lisa. What you experienced in Lisa is a triumph of life succeeding where others would have been drowned. Her beauty, her personality, her insights and talents to write, to video blog and help others find their path all are attributed to her struggles. These are what forged her and allowed her to give us light.
Lisa was a very wonderful, loving person. She has been through so much hardship in her life but was able to persevere and better - to finally enjoy her life and be able to express so much love and also receive so much love. I am filled with gratitude to have shared love, life and awareness with Lisa. Such wonderful times and memories, such closeness, she is deeply missed.
Lisa was born in Sept. 13, 1949 in Reno, NV, spent her childhood in Carlsbad, CA, lived most of her life in North Bend, Or, then finally moving to Maui, Hi, a place she had dreamed of most of her life. She earned her degree as a registered nurse and worked in North Bend before retiring and moving to Maui. Lisa worked as a RN with her best friend Robin Rasmussen (Portland, OR) for many years.
Lisa is survived by her spouse Sifan Kahale whom she met and lived with in Stillwater, Mn before coming to Hawaii. Lisa has three children, Grace Cavanaugh (LA, CA), John Hamilton and Lena Smith (North Bend, OR) and her brother Ed (Kathleen) Hamilton (Santa Rosa, CA). Lisa has two granddaughters, Olivia and Juliet from her daughter Grace.
