Lorraine Yukiko Nishijo's Obituary
Lorraine Yukiko Nishijo, 90, of Kahului, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017 at Maui Memorial Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Services honoring Mrs. Nishijo will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Visitation will begin 10am, with services beginning at 11am. Mrs. Nishijo will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 2pm.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Lorraine was born on March 18, 1926 in Hana, Maui to Koichi & Kisa Okano. She was the third of six children. After graduating from Hana high school, Lorraine held many positions with HC&S before retiring as a warehouse clerk. In her spare time, she loved to cook traditional Japanese meals for her family, nishime was her specialty. She always seemed to have ongoing craft projects and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her treasured grandchildren.
Mrs. Nishijo was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Mr. Robert Nishijo; and brothers, Nobuyuki (Romeo) Okano, Mel (Fusao) Okano, and Hatsue (Hazel) Honda. She is survived by daughter, Gayle (Nathan) Kim; sons, Lance (Donna) Nishijo & Russell Nishijo; granddaughter, Tracie Kim; grandsons, Kody Kim & Brent Nishijo. She also leaves behind, brothers, Kenneth Okano & Joseph (Edna) Okano; sister-in-laws, Natsuko Okano, Jane Okano, Doris Ota & Sue Shimoma; and great grandchildren, Breyden & Shailee Nishijo.
