Louis "Louie" A. Souza's Obituary
Louis “Louie” Arnold Souza was born on June 7th, 1960. He is survived by his wife Marcy Ulep-Souza, his son Evan Stant (Nani), his grandson Ezra, his fur-babies (Kupa’a, Pohaku, & Pono), his parents Barron and Rosaline Shirley Souza, his siblings Faith-Souza Tavares (Armon), Barron Souza Jr. (Melissa), Kevin Souza (Crystal), Jan-Renee Souza-Almeida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louie retired as a carpenter from the State of Hawaii D.O.T. Airports Division after 33 years of service. Louie was an avid fisherman, a proud member of the Maui Casting Club, a master custom fishing rod builder, and the owner of L.S. Custom Rods. In his last years, Louie enjoyed fishing in Kūʻau. Our family would like to mahalo Ray and Cynthia Ikeda for their unwavering hospitality.
On the evening of February 1st, 2020, Louie left this earth doing what he loved most, fishing. His services will be held on Friday, March 13th, 2020 at Nakamura Mortuary located at 1218 Lower Main St. in Wailuku. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, with the service at 7:30 PM. Dinner to follow.
We would like to thank the First Responders and Maui Health Systems staff who went above and beyond for Louie. Also, Thank you to the staff at Rainbow Dialysis for their compassionate care.
A private scattering of his ashes will be held at a later date.
