Louisa Augustina (Roback) Pu's Obituary
Louisa Roback Pu, gained her wings on March 12, 2026, at home in Hāna. She was born on August 22, 1936 in Hāna, to Josephine Akiu Roback and William Frederick Roback Sr.
Louisa grew up in Ke’anae and Hāna, with her eight siblings; Josephine (Kaua), August, Rebecca, Nancy, Pearl (Momi), Gladys, Billy and Cecelia. Louisa worked as a front desk clerk and reservationist at Hotel Hāna Maui and retired after working for forty-five years. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Legion of Mary, at St. Mary’s Parish in Hāna.
She is survived by her son James Kimo Kalei Pu III; grandson Kekoa Pu; granddaughter Farrah Pu; eight great grandchildren; brother Billy Roback; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.
Services will be held on Friday March 27, 2026 from 9:00am to 12 noon at Nakamura Mortuary in Wailuku, and Saturday March 28, 2026 from 9:00am to 12 noon, with mass at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hāna. Burial to follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pu’uiki, Hāna, Maui, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James Kimo Kalei Pu Jr.
“Mama Lou”, as she was called by so many, requested that Hawaiian attire be worn for her Celebration of Life. She will forever be in our Hearts.
