Louise Ann Nuesca Segovia's Obituary
Louise Ann Nuesca Segovia, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Kahului, Maui on July 26th, 2024. Louise was born on July 25, 1939 in the township of Makawao, Village of Paia, at Paia Hospital. She grew up in Haiilimaile when it was a sleepy town of Pineapple fields. She attended St. Anthony School in the town of Wailuku. “Aunty Lu” will be remembered for her warm smile and kind nature. She touched the lives of many with her generosity especially for her beloved Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
"Aunty Lu" played a role in raising many of her grandnieces and grandnephews in Carson, California, as well as her own grandchildren. She had a passion for sewing and contributed by making numerous costumes for her family’s hula performances at various competitions. One of her hobbies was crocheting, and she made blankets for each of her grandchildren when they were born, as well as beanie hats. Some of her other hobbies included doing puzzles, playing Scrabble, and enjoying video games on her iPad. She also loved playing Piute, a Filipino poker card game, and always carried her jar of quarters with her. She loved listening to her son Alex and grandsons Matthew and Boneigh when they played music. Additionally, she enjoyed trips to the Ninth Island and Pechanga with her daughters Anita, Tia, and Mary and attending the various sporting events in which her Granddaughters Deni and Cejae participated in.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander A.A. Segovia, Sr of Aiea, Oahu.
Louise is survived by her children: Anita Segovia Barvin (Blake), Alex Segovia (Starr, deceased), Allen Segovia (deceased), Alicia Virema Segovia, Tia Napoleon (Kevin), Alfred Segovia (Judy), and Mary Bendik (Joshua).
Louise had many Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren and Hanai Grandchildren that loved her very much.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. “Aunty Lu” will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her.
