Makekau, Lovena Kehaulani's Obituary
Lovena Kehaulani Makekau 81, died peacefully on December 5, 2024 at home in Makawao surrounded by family. She was born on April 4, 1943 in Ho’olehua, Molokai, to John (Spooks) Nako’oko’o Uahinui and Mae Kalehua (Rodrigues) Remegio. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death, to her late husband, Moses Hoopai Makekau.
Lovena also leaves behind her children: Renalynn Makekau of Kamalo, Emerson (Jan) Makekau of Makawao, Irmalynn Remegio of Wailuku, Ericson (Flora) Makekau of Kihei, Eddison (Margaret) Makekau of Kamalo, Kehaulani (Admir) Demirovic of St. Louis, Missouri, and Erwison Makekau of Molokai.
As well as 21 Grandchildren, 41 Great grandchildren, 1 Great Great grandchild.
Also, preceded in death Brother, John Charles Uahinui and Sister Ona Mae Bie (Robert) Rasmussen.
Siblings: Charlene Leilani Poepoe of Kalamaula Molokai, Byron (Jackie) Uahinui of Las Vegas, and James (Terry) Nahinu of Waianae, Oahu.
Services will be held on a later date.
