Lucio Agustin Domingo's Obituary
Mr. Lucio Agustin Domingo, 92, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2016 at his home in Lahaina surrounded by his loving family.
Services honoring Mr. Domingo will begin on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Nakamura Mortuary. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00pm. Services will continue on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Nakamura Mortuary with visitation beginning at 8:00am. Mr. Domingo will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 10:30am.
Lucio was born on December 15, 1923 to Pedro & Cornelia Domingo in Mangato, Laoag City, Philippines. He was the third of ten children. Lucio was a farmer, growing mainly rice, sugarcane, and a variety of vegetables. In 1944, he married the love of his life, Modesta Layugan Dela Cruz and together, they raised 11 wonderful children. In 1974, the couple moved to Maui and Lucio began a 12 year career as a Houseman at The Maui Surf Hotel (now the Westin Maui Resort & Spa). He retired in 1986 and focused his time on his garden and his grandchildren. They loved how he would put up hammocks in the garage, and rock them to sleep while their parents worked
multiple jobs. Lucio cherished every moment he spent with his family. He was known as a funny, generous, helpful, and caring Tatang.
Lucio Agustin Domingo is survived by his wife of 72 years, Modesta Dela Cruz Domingo, brother, Alfredo Domingo (P.I.), and sisters, Demetria Dela Cruz (P.I.) & Premitiva (Dominador) Lasticaof Lahaina. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter-in-law, Flora Domingo (George Chopko); daughter, Leonora (Peter) Castillo; daughter, Clarita Clarion; son, Jun (Nancy) Domingo; daughter, Ely (Jimmy) Salvador; daughter, Julie (Rey) Bumanglag; daughter-in-law, Fely (Rey)
Guieb, son, Isaias (Marilyn) Domingo, and adopted daughters, Nellani (Richard) Rodriguez & Beverly Castillo; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren & 5 greatgreat grandchildren. He was predeceased by his children, Mariano, Eduardo, Serafina, Herminio, and Rodney Domingo, son-in-law, Reynaldo Clarion, siblings, Romualda Barangan, Sotera Cudal, Guillermo, Zacarias, Clemente, and Encarnacion Domingo, and grandson, Joey Salvador.
