Malisa Copperfield's Obituary
Malisa Leinani Copperfield - A beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and everyone’s favorite aunty was called home on June 12, 2024.
Malisa was born to Lorraine Primero and William Copperfield on May 31, 1970, on the island of Oahu.
Malisa and her family moved to Maui in her teenage years - When she was 16, she met and fell in love with her soulmate, Roy Kalani Nakihei also known as DJ Flex. Together they created 7 beautiful children by the names of Chelsey, Valerie, Tiare, Tatyana, Trent, Payden and Tyson Nakihei. Despite having a large family, Malisa selflessly fostered many children over the course of her life as she had an innate passion to love and care for others, especially those going through tough times.
Malisa loved to cook. This was her way of communicating her love. She would spend countless hours prepping, studying and perfecting her recipes pouring her heart into the food she prepared. Her favorite part of cooking was seeing how much joy her food brought people. She loved to see people happy and would often be the reason behind their smile and laughter.
Most of all Malisa loved her kids. Flaws and all she would lay down her life for her kids and wanted nothing more than to watch them flourish. Her youngest baby of the seven, Tyson was born in the same month as her (May) at 1 lb. (a miracle baby) her Makana (gift) to her family. Every kid played a significant role in her life. She loved each one deeply.
Malisa's spirit lives on through many of those whose lives she’s graced leaving a ripple effect of love to continue on for eternity - in her name.
Services for our beloved mother will be held at Iao Valley State Park, a place she loved to party and have a good time with her loved ones. Date TBD.
