Michie Kosaka's Obituary
Michie Kosaka, 97, of Lahaina, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2017 at Hale Makua Kahului.
Services honoring Mrs. Kosaka will be held at Lahaina Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., with service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. Kosaka was born on January 15, 1920 to Toraichi and Rai Yagami.
She retired from Maui Land & Pineapple Co. as a payroll clerk.
Mrs. Kosaka was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Edwin Mitoku Kosaka; brothers, Donald Masaru and Stanley Yagami; sisters, Toshiko Lenwai, Miyoko Kanemitsu, and Mildred Wilson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Richard (Charlene), Alvin (Erlinda), Gary (Socorro) Kosaka; daughters, Sandra Ross and Irene Kosaka; eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of Lahaina Methodist Church, enjoyed tending to her orchid garden and spending time with her grandchildren. In 1996, Michie was honored as the “Outstanding Senior” at the Honolua/Lahaina Kaunoa Senior Center.
