Okuda, Mildred Terada's Obituary
May 1, 1929- January 1, 2025
Our beloved mom passed away on New Year’s Day at Roselani Place under Hospice Maui and is now with our Lord and Savior.
Mom enjoyed her life at Roselani for the past nearly year and a half!! She made wonderful friends with everyone there! She enjoyed playing bingo, Hanafuda, singing karaoke, Kahului Union Church’s sing-along on Mondays and Bible study on Wednesdays. Her life was full, and she enjoyed every moment of her life.
If she wasn’t doing any of those things she was in her room reading her Bible. She often said, “I love this Holy Bible!” She was baptized again as an adult in 2024 by the late Pastor Ken Tanaka.
Our Mom, Millie, was born in Lahaina on May 1, 1929. She was the cafeteria manager at Maui High School in Hamakuapoko and later in Kahului. She loved to prepare delicious lunches, dessert and snacks.
Always positive and happy, no matter her circumstances, she was an inspiration to all. Her love of people and love of life will always be remembered in our hearts. She was God’s precious gift to us.
Millie is survived by son, Darryl Okuda; daughter, Charlene Okuda; granddaughter, Courtney Okuda and husband Andy Thorson; great grandson, Matthew Thorson.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10 AM to 1PM. 10 AM to 10:45 AM Visitation. 11 AM - 1 PM Service.
