Miyoko "Rae" Honma's Obituary
Miyoko "Rae" Honma, 88 years old, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 14, 2018 in Wailuku, Maui. She was born in the town of Pahala, Hawaii on March 6, 1930.
Miyoko was married to her husband, Short Honma, for sixty-nine years. An avid golfer to the end, great friend to all, and wonderful mother to her children, she will be remembered and missed terribly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Short; Children: Michael (Stephanie), Kenneth (Lori Pasco), Marlene (Seizen Bonk) and Daniel (Sara) along with grandchildren: Miyoko (preceeded in death), Chiyome, Abraham, Andrew, Jordan, Conor, Asher, Micah, Leah and Noah, and grandchildren Conor Jr., Braedon and Kanai as well as numerous cousins.
We would like to thank Maui Hospice, especially Colleen Watanabe (Hospice Nurse) and Danette Kong (volunteer), for providing outstanding compassionate care and top-notch service in the last month of mom's life. We couldn't have navigated this end of life chapter without them. We are also ever so grateful for the countless loyal and entertaining friends who stood by her through the good times and bad.
She'd say to all "Be happy, live fully, no regrets!" She'll meet you all at the 19th hole!
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
