Modesta Dela Cruz Domingo, 92, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018 at her home in Lahaina surrounded by her loving family.
Services honoring Mrs. Domingo will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Monday, July 2, 2018. Visitation will begin at 5:30pm, with services beginning at 6:30pm. Second day services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Visitation will begin at 7:30am with service to start at 8:30am. Mrs. Domingo will be laid to eternal rest at Maui Memorial Park at 10:30am. Nakamura Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
Modesta was born on November 4, 1925 to Marcelo Dela Cruz Jr., and Fortunata Layugan in Mangato, Laoag City, Philippines. She was the youngest of 9 children. In 1944, Modesta married the love of her life, Lucio Agustin Domingo, and together, they raised 11 wonderful children. In 1975, she left the Philippines to join her husband here, on Maui. Modesta retired from The Whaler Condo as a Lobby Attendant.
She was survived by her loving family, husband, Lucio Domingo†, son, Herminio† (Flora) Domingo, daughter, Leonora (Peter) Castillo, daughter, Clarita (Reynaldo†) Clarion, son, Jun (Nancy) Domingo, daughter, Ely (Jimmy) Salvador, daughter, Julie (Rey) Bumanglag, son Rodney† (Fely and Rey Guieb), son, Isaias (Marilyn) Domingo, adopted daughters Nellani (Richard) Rodriguez & Dr. Beverly Castillo, NMD, daughter-in-law, Flora Domingo, daughter-in-law, Fely (Rey) Guieb, and sister-in-law, Premitiva (Dominador) Lastica, 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
